Listen to your heart and not your ego. Your ego prompts you to boast of vain assertions to obtain the glory of this world. Turn away from vanity and seek Him in the recesses of your heart and soul.
- Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jillani [Fayuz E Yazdani]
“Sometimes, you just need a little time to yourself with Quran in your hand, tears in your eyes, and Allah in your heart.”
““Don’t be frustrated when you can’t change someone for the better, you have a hard enough time with yourself…keep on trying.” -AbdulBary Yahya
We need to teach our daughters to distinguish between,
A man who flatters her and a man who compliments her,
A man who spends money on her and a man who invests in her,
A man who views her as property and a man who views her properly,
A man who lusts after her and man who loves her,
A man who believes he’s a gift to women and a man who believes she’s a gift to him.
And then we need to teach our sons to be that kind of man.
“We all will sin. That is a certainty. But the choice is ours. Will we follow the footsteps of the one who repented and became a prophet, or will we follow the one who refused…and became forever cursed?” -Yasmin Mogahed
“So don’t give up. Don’t give in to that feeling that tells you to do the bare minimum. Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala (exalted is He) would not create you to be a useless addition to this world. You can be something special—something special to Him—if you don’t give up. If you take that step. Why are we reminded by the Prophet ﷺ in so many sayings that Allah (swt) accepts the servant who returns? Why are we told when we come one step closer to Allah (swt), He comes to us at speed? It is to remind us that Allah (swt) wants us to reach our potential, to take that first step despite the fact that the first step might be the hardest.” -Jinan Bastaki
A member of a certain mosque, who previously had started attending the mosque to perform his Salaah (prayer), suddenly stopped attending. After a few weeks, the imam decided to visit him.
It was a chilly evening. The imam found the man alone at home, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing…
“Know that your spiritual state in this life will be reflected in your physical state in the next. Those whose hearts are blind in this life, will be raised up blind in the next. Those who entered the paradise of this life with their hearts (remembrance and nearness to God) will enter the paradise of the next with their whole being. Those whose hearts were veiled from God in this life, will be physically veiled from Him in the next. And those who could ‘see’ God with their hearts in this life, will see God with their eyes in the next.”
-Yasmin Mogahed
HADITH OF THE DAY: Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:
“Look at those who stand at a lower level than you but don’t look at those who stand at a higher level than you, for this would make the favours (conferred upon you by Allah) insignificant (in your eyes).” [Muslim]
